The continuous friction welder is driven by a motor to rotate a workpiece, while pressing another workpiece towards the rotating workpiece, so that the contact surfaces friction with each other to generate heat and a certain plastic deformation, and then stop rotating, at the same time applying the top forging pressure to complete the welding. Welding quality is related to speed, friction time, friction pressure, top forging pressure and top forging deformation of workpiece. The friction welding machine uses the heat generated by the friction between the workpiece end faces to make it reach the plastic state, and then the welding is completed by the top forging. Because the chip is often firmly stuck to the tool head when turning the workpiece, the shaft and the bearing will also produce local welding when the lubrication is poor, friction welding is invented from these phenomena.
